Tablets
Tablets are widely used to administer medicines. This is because they are
easy to produce, easy to handle, stable and because more than one medicine can be added via one tablet.
Lactose is a widely used ingredient in tablets, not only because it has good compression properties, but also because it has a good physical, chemical and microbiological stability, shows little batch variations and is relatively inexpensive.
Next to lactose it is also possible to use high purity pregelatinized starch and corn starch as excipient that meets pharmaceutical industry standards in oral dosage forms such as tablets, capsules or syrups.
